In a remote camp in the mountains, Carlota (Mercedes Morán), a renowned paleontologist, guards the most important finding of her scientific career: the fossil remains of hippogriff, a mythical creature that is half lion and half bird. There was never any proof of its existence until now. Constanza (Natalia Oreiro), a biologist who is sent to examine Carlota's finding, questions authenticity of the finding and also points out very poor transparency in usage of the research funds. The relationship between the two is becoming increasingly tense and a conflict seems inevitable.
The arrival of Freddy (Diego Velazquez), the old rival of Carlota with unclear intentions, forces Carlota to face a very strong enemy who is threatening to destroy the land and local natural resources. Now Carlota and Constanza, alone and against everyone, do not hesitate to risk their own lives to protect the secret from greed of humankind.

2.1 Production Development
The first mention of planned movie called Reinas Salvajes (Wild queens) was published on August 23, 2019 on the Argentinian Diario Show, where it was written that actresses Natalia Oreiro and Mercedes Morán will star together in a film writer by author Mariano Llinás. Filming was announced for November and December 2019.
On Thursday, October 3, 2019, new information about the planned shooting of Reinas Salvajes was released. The director of the film is Matías Lucchesi, for whom this film is the third feature of his career. The film will be filmed for six weeks in November and December in Argentine province of Mendoza, specifically in Valle de Uspallata Nature Reserve. The film is about two paleontologists who will make an unexpected discovery.

On Thursday, October 17, 2019, actresses Natalia Oreiro and Mercedes Moran visited Argentine Museum of Natural Sciences to get advice from real life scientists for their movie roles in Reinas Salvajes, where they portray paleontologists.
2.2 Filming
Filming of Reinas Salvajes by Argentinian director Matias Lucchesi took place for six weeks. The first five weeks the shooting took place in Argentine province of Mendoza, from November 12, 2019 to December 13, 2019. Shooting took place in rural areas of Canota, Cerro 7 Colores, Minas de Paramillos, Villavicencio and also in tourist area Las Heras. The last filming week took place in studios of Buenos Aires.
The first shooting day took place in Valle de Uspallata on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 with actresses Natalia Oreiro and Mercedes Morán.
Filming of Reinas Salvajes in Mendoza (Oreiro & Morán)
Argentine actor Diego Velazquez joined the team in the third week of shooting to film his scenes in Mendoza. Night scenes were also filmed this week. In the fourth week, scenes in local caves were filmed. The last shooting day in Mendoza was Friday, December 13, 2019, when exterior scenes were filmed again.
The final week of filming of Reinas Salvajes was a week from 16 to 20 December 2019, which took place in Buenos Aires, where indoor scenes were filmed in studio. Filming of the movie concluded on Friday, December 20, 2020 after 31 filming days. The film was set to premiere in May 2020.
