Mi Primera Boda is black bitter sweet comedy feature film by director Ariel Winograd,which was filmed hotel Estancia Villa Maria next to town Canuelas by Buenos Aires, Argentina, from March 14th 2011 till April 21st 2011. The script of the movie was written by Patricio Vega, who also wrote the script to very successful comedy of 2008 Música en Espera. The production companies of the movie are Argentinean Tres Planos Cine and TeLeFé Cine in collaboration with two producers - Nathalie Cabiron and Ricardo Fraixá.
The movie premiere is set for August 25th 2011.
Natalia Oreiro portrays leading female role while the male leading character is played by Daniel Hendler, both Uruguayan actors. In supporting characters there are: comical duo Daniel Rabinovich & Marcos Mundstock, actresses Soledad Silveyra and Gabriela Acher, or actors Martín Piroyanski, Gino Renni and Imanol Arias.
World movie premiere took place in Argentina on September 1st 2011 and the official distribution company was Buena Vista International. In Argentine the movie was a box office success and only in first ten days was seen by more than 100.000 people. The movie’s premiere in Uruguay took place on September 16th 2011 and the movie went directly to first box office position.

At the day of his wedding slightly nervous Daniel (Daniel Hendler) makes several small mistakes to cover up from his fiancé Leonora (Natalia Oreiro) problem that is far too big to be handled. However, instead of covering up the problem, his mistakes complicate the whole wedding ceremony and will reach a point where the celebration as well as happy ending for young couple might have tragic consequences.

Originally the movie was supposed to unite acting couple Natalia Oreiro and Mike Amigorena already for the fourth time in their acting careers. However, due to the delay in filming from September 2010 to March 2011, Mike Amigorena had to withdraw from the project due to schedule conflict with his theater performance in Hamlet. Daniel Hendler, Uruguayan actor with Polish roots, thus portrays the male leading character in the movie.
For Natalia Oreiro the movie Mi Primera Boda is seventh feature film of her career with leading character, it is also her ninth movie overall.

2.1 Pre-production
Already on February 15th 2009 Natalia Oreiro mentioned in the interview for newspapers Clarín that she has an offer to shoot a movie by Ariel Winograd about problems of people in their thirties.
More concrete information about the movie appeared only about a year later, it was on March 23rd 2010 by the official website of Natalia Oreiro. It was announced that the movie’s name is Mi Primera Boda and that the story is about a young woman who needs to overcome many difficulties before her wedding.
In the interview for newspapers La Capital on April 11th 2010 Natalia Oreiro said: “The whole story of the movie takes place during a wedding, it is black comedy.” Moreover, it was also announced that Argentinean actor Mike Amigorena would portray the male leading character.
Natalia Oreiro and Mike Amigorena talked in the interview for newspapers Clarín on July 9th 2010 about their future project Mi Primera Boda. “It is a black, bitter, romantic comedy,” said Natalia, while Mike adds: “It is a wedding of Jewish boy and Catholic girl.” It was also announced that the movie would be filmed in September 2010.

Server PrimiciasYa published on August 8th 2010 another information about the movie, which should be filmed in September 2010, and its plot that is about a Jewish guy (Mike Amigorena) and a ‚goy‘ girl (meaning that she is not from the Jewish community - Natalia Oreiro), who simply decides to get married.
Patricio Vega, famous Argentinean scriptwriter, said in the interview for newspapers Clarín from September 9th 2010: “I have just finished writing the script for second movie of Ariel Winograd with Natalia Oreiro as a leading star!” It was for the first time announced that the script is of Mi Primera Boda is written by Vega. However, it is not the first script that Vega has written for Natalia Oreiro because Vega wrote script to 2008’s famous Oreiro’s comedy Música en Espera.
It was announced on September 15th 2010 that the movie’s production company is Argentinean Tres Planos Cine. Also the tagline for the movie was published: „Hasta que la suerte nos separe!“ (Until happiness parts us!)
At the premiere of movie Francia in Uruguay Natalia Oreiro also did an interview for server Telemedios, which was published on September 19th 2010, and where Oreiro also mentioned her future movie Mi Primera Boda. Oreiro said that before she will film this movie she would film one other movie. The filming of Mi Primera Boda was thus moved from September 2010 to the beginning of year 2011.
It was announced on October 25th 2010 by newspapers La Nación that there were several changes done during the pre-production phase of the movie Mi Primera Boda. The most considerable change is that the leading male character will be portrayed by Uruguayan actor with Polish roots Daniel Hendler thus replacing Mike Amigorena who had to withdraw from the movie project due to schedule problem with his theater play Hamlet. It was announced that the movie would be shot in Buenos Aires starting in late February 2011. The script by Patricio Vega was written based on a personal experience story of director Ariel Winograd and his wife Nathalie Cabiron, who is also a movie producer. Cabiron said that the whole movie’s story happens on the day of wedding with mixture of various situations that will complicate the celebration and consequently future of the couple.
On Tuesday December 14th 2010 was announced by the CEO’s of production company TeLeFé Cine Luis Velo and Axel Kuschevatzky the production plan for period of 2011/2012. Company will be co-producing the movie Mi Primera Boda with Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler, which will be filmed in March 2011 with the premiere planned for August 2011.
In December 2010 there was a casting for secondary characters in the movie Mi Primera Boda held by the production company Tres Planos Cine in Buenos Aires. The casting finished on Friday December 17th 2010.
Martín Piroyanski, young Argentinean actor, said in an interview for newspapers Diario Z from 22nd of December 2010: “In year 2011 I will be part of cast in movie Mi Primera Boda, which is a second movie by Ariel Winograd, altogether with Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler!”
In the interview for magazine Hola from December 21st 2010 Natalia Oreiro also talked about movie Mi Primera Boda. „Between my personal life and lives of my two future characters I find myself being trapped in three distinctive lives, and it is quite chaotic,” laughs Oreiro. Also it was announced that the movie would be filmed from March 2011 close to capital Buenos Aires.
On January 11th 2011 was published first photo from rehearsals of Mi Primera Boda with Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler as their movie characters future wife and husband Leonora Bellami and Adrián Hersheller. The movie premiere was set for August 2011.

Natalia Oreiro said in the interview from January 12th 2011 that she will start film this movie only after ten days break after finishing her previous movie Infancia Clandestina. She also revealed for the first time that she would record new duet song for the movie with Daniel Hendler.
On January 18th 2011 more information about movie cast was revealed. Newly joined the cast actors Sebastián de Caro, Alan Sabag and Clemente Cancela, who will play best friends of Adrián from Jewish community. Moreover, all four of them were seen rehearsing their roles on January 17th 2011 altogether with movie director.
Only one day later, on January 19th 2011, there was an interview with actress Gabriela Acher published in newspapers La Republica. Acher said that she would be part of the cast: “It is second feature film of Ariel Winograd with Oreiro and Hendler. My character is mother of Daniel while Graciela Borges will play mother of Natalia. The whole movie takes place during wedding of Jewish boy and Catholic girl.“ It was also announced that day by movie producer Nathalie Cabiron that first filming day will be March 14th 2011 and that the duet that Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler would probably record is jazz song ‘Can Anyone Explain’ from duo Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.
On January 21st new information concerning the movie was released. Unfortunately, Graciela Borges will not portray character of Oreiro’s mother due to scheduling conflict. Yet new cast members were announced, they are Muriel Santa Ana, Pepe Soriano and Spanish actor Imanol Arias, who will portray character of Oreiro’s ex-boyfriend. The graphic designer for movie’s opening sequence is Argentinean artist Ricardo Liniers.
The official start of movie’s pre-production process was on February 15th 2011 by lead of Tres Planos Production Company. Movie’s music composer was announced to be Adrián Iaies who is famous Argentine jazz composer. Moreover, in characters of rabbi and priest are Daniel Rabinovich and Marcos Mundstock. One day later it was announced by LaUbfal that Italian actor Gino Renni would portray character of father of Daniel Hendler.
Movie director Ariel Winograd talked about upcoming filming in interview for Otros Cines from February 24th 2011. “The production goes very fast, we are already in second week of pre-production and filming starts on March 14th and whole filming will be done in Estancia Villa Maria by Canuelas,“ confirmed and added: „Oreiro and Hendler will laos sing a song together for the final movie titles.“ It was also announced that new cast member is actress Soledad Silveyra, who will portray mother of Natalia Oreiro’s character.
Natalia Oreiro talked in an interview for newspapers La Capital from February 25th 2011 also about her upcoming movie Mi Primera Boda: „It is a beautiful comedy that takes place during my character’s wedding. I always loved movies with wedding theme, such as those with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant.“
On Friday February 25th 2011 Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler met together with movie’s music composer Adrián Iaies in recording studio in house of Oreiro to rehears for new song for end titles.
On Thursday March 3rd 2011 first official conference of movie Mi Primera Boda took place in Buenos Aires in restaurant Manero at 18.30. Movie director Ariel Winograd, main movie actors Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler, as well as supporting actors like Daniel Rabinovich and Marcos Mundstock, Gino Renni, Gabriela Acher or Martín Piroyanski were all present at the conference. „Many women dream about their wedding, about the one special day in their lives and they focus on arrangements, on their friends and both families getting together, and they want to make sure everything turns out well. In many cases it works out, but there are times where it turns out badly. This movie is really funny because everything that seemed to be going right goes wrong,” said Natalia during the conference. „However everything bad that happens, everything bad that happens to our character, will be really funny for all viewers,“ added Oreiro.

Moreover, Natalia shared about her acting partner Daniel Hendler: „We know each other some time already, also now for more than month we are rehearsing for our characters, we laugh all the time and we really got into our characters and we know what our characters would be able to do in certain situations,” said in the interview for TV Magazine and added: „Our characters are madly in love, but they can also get into big fights.” During the conference movie premiere was announced to be on August 25th 2011.
Interview with Natalia Oreiro was published on March 5th 2011 in newspapers Clarín where she also talked about the upcoming movie’s filming: „Mi Primera Boda is bitter sweet comedy. It has all the aspects of romantic comedy, however for main characters everything turns out the wrong way. It is a mixed wedding and we will be wed by Daniel Rabinovich, our cast is really spectacular,” and added: „When I was getting married it was a super hippie wedding on the beach, but my sister had the traditional wedding that most of women dream of. So the thing is, if you want to get married you should come and see our movie and then think twice,” laughs Natalia.
Only three days prior to official date of filming, on March 11th 2011, were the promotional photos taken in studio in Buenos Aires. Natalia Oreiro, Daniel Hendler, Soledad Silveyra or Martín Piroyansky and others were all present at the photo shoot. Wedding dress for Oreiro’s character was designed by fashion brand Las Oreiro. „Yes, the dress is design by me and my sister, but it is actually a creation of all the production team. The dress is by Las Oreiro, but it is made especially for this movie,” said Oreiro during photo shoot for TV program AM.
2.2 Filming
First filming day of movie Mi Primera Boda was on Monday March 14th 2011. According to the information of Tres Planos the film will be shot for six weeks, till April 24th 2011. The filming took place in hotel Estancia Villa Maria and its surroundings close to town Canuelas near by to Buenos Aires.
First scenes that were filmed were done in exteriors with actors Daniel Hendler, Daniel Rabinovich and Marcos Mundstock. On Wednesday March 17th 2011 Martín Piroyansky joined filming team and filmed scenes with Daniel Hendler, whose character is his cousin.
Second filming week has started on March 22nd 2011 with actresses Natalia Oreiro joining the team as Leonora and Soledad Silveyra as her mother.
On March 25th 2011 it was announced that Spanish actor Imanol Arias is coming to Buenos Aires on April 3rd 2011 in order to join filming team of the movie. Arias stayed in Argentina till April 16th 2011. It was also announced that filming would be stopped over the weekend of 2nd and 3rd April because of a wedding of Michael Bublé and Luisiana Lopilato, which took at the filming location of Estancia Villa Maria.

Third filming week started on Monday March 28th 2011 and lasted till Friday when it had to be interrupted due to another event happening at the filming location. This week Argentine actors Muriel Santa Ana and Clemente Cancela joined the cast.
During the fourth filming week from April 4th till April 10th 2011 there were scenes with Spanish actor Imanolem Arias filmed. Arias came to Buenos Aires especially to film his scenes as an ex-boyfriend of Oreiro’s character. „I am very happy to be back to Buenos Aires to film a beautiful comedy with Natalia Oreiro,“ said Arias in an interview for newspapers La Nueva on April 7th 2011.
Fifth filming week started on Monday April 11th 2011. According to the production team it was this week when majority of the key scenes were filmed. Scenes from the wedding ceremony were also filmed that week consisting of 30 actors and 60 extras.
Sixth and last filming week started on April 18th 2011. This week, on April 19th 2011, there was also first promotional poster released with main cast being featured. The very last filming day was on Thursday April 21st 2011. Filming of movie Mi Primera Boda took in total six weeks.

Party to celebrate the end of filming took place in Buenos Aires on April 22nd 2011. At the party there were present not only director Ariel Winograd and production team but also main actors Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler along with majority of the cast.
2.3 Post-Production
On Sunday May 15th 2011 there was an interview with Daniel Hendler published in newspapers El País in Uruguay, where he talked about the movie: „It is a very funny movie, but I still have not seen him complete. The story takes place during a wedding where the fiancée, my character, makes several mistakes and his loved one, who is played by Oreiro, wants to kill him,” laughs Hendler. To answer how was cooperation with Oreiro he answered: „I had a good time. She is such a professional and very punctual and thanks to this the cooperation was easy and interesting!“ The same day there was an interview with Natalia Oreiro released in newspapers Clarín, where she said: „I saw parts of the movie and its genial!“
It was officially announced on June 10th 2011 that the movie premiere was moved to September 1st 2011 and that the official distribution company for the movie in Argentina is Buena Vista International. The pre-premiere was confirmed for Monday August 29th 2011 in Buenos Aires.
On Thursday July 21st 2011 there was first teaser trailer released in program of TV station TeLeFe. The same week it was announced that Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler sang a new version of a song When You’re Smiling for end movie’s titles. The song was for the first time ever sang in Spanish with title ‘Cuando Ríes ‘. The song is in jazz version as arranged by movie’s original music composer Adrián Iaies.

Main movie’s protagonist Natalia Oreiro talked in an interview for Yahoo published on July 29th 2011 also about a movie Mi Primera Boda: „For me a comedy is something that I enjoy but my character needs to have a personality. My movie’s character is real, but she is nothing like me, which makes it interesting for me. Leonora is very unbearable; she lives to be a bride. She wants everything to be as she imagines. For me it is another new character and new challenge.” She added to her character: „She plans the wedding for several months, the place, the dress, souvenirs, music and she spends money that she does not have only to make sure everyone will enjoy themselves but she will not even take a glass of champagne!“

The official movie trailer was released on August 2nd 2011 at 8pm by TeLeFe station. The trailer has 2 minutes and 12 seconds and it is the first encounter of characters and the story for public. The premiere will take place on September 1st 2011 in all cinemas of Argentina.

The premiere of movie Mi Primera Boda was set for September 1st 2011, yet several weeks before there were promotional events going on in Argentina in order to support box office. The pre-premiere was planned for August 29th 2011 in Buenos Aires with the presence of most of the cats and crew members, On September 1st there should also be promotional events in Argentinean province Córdoba. The same day the movie should be available in cinemas all over Argentina.
On August 11th 2011 there were first TV commercial shown on TV station TeLeFe, each having 20 seconds. They were broadcasted till movie’s premiere. Altogether with commercials there were billboards all over Buenos Aires installed and were attracting public to come and see the ‘Comedy of the Year’ Mi Primera Boda.
The main movie’s protagonist Natalia Oreiro started promotion by attending show of Susana Gimenez on Monday August 15th 2011 on TV station TeLeFe where she talk about her pregnancy, movie and filming. She also introduced movie trailer. “The movie will premiere on September 1st. The whole story takes place during a wedding of Adrián and Leonora, which is my character. Daniel Hendler plays my fiancé and he is really funny in the movie. My character wants a really perfect wedding, she has all ready but because of one small mistake it all seems to end up in ruins!“
On August 17th 2011 there was a first movie screening for movie critics taking place in Hotel Four Seasons. During the screening Natalia Oreiro, Soledad Silveyra, Daniel Hendler and director Ariel Winograd gave many interviews to various media, which were published in weeks to follow. The first Argentinean critics were very positive:

On Thursday August 18th 2011 at 5pm Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler went to studios of TeLeFe in San Isidro in order to film their special participation in telenovela Cuando Me Sonreís, where the main protagonist is actor Facundo Arana. In the scene Oreiro and Hendler portray their movie characters Leonora and Adrián. It was also announced that the scene is a ‚prequel‘ and the story of the scene precedes happenings of the movie. In the scene there are Leonora and Adrián as fiancés and are coming to bar of Luna Rivas (Julieta Díaz) in order to discuss possibility of catering for their wedding. In the bar they also meet with Gastón (Facundo Arana), who tries to seduce Leonora. Moreover, it was announced that the scene is to appear in 13th episode and to be broadcasted on Wednesday August 24th 2011.
On Friday August 19th 2011 there was an official video with bloopers published by website La Cosa Cine. The video is a new encounter of the movie’s characters and storyline. The same day it was announced that on August 23rd 2011 there would be second official press conference in Buenos Aires in Hotel Four Seasons, while on August 29th there would be pre-premiere in Cinemark Cinema. It was also said that Natalia Oreiro might travel to Córdoba, a province of Argentina, on September 1st 2011 in order to promote the movie there.
Newspapers Perfil published an interview with actresses Natalia Oreiro and Soledad Silveyra on August 21st 2011. To answer a question how was it to work together again after filming telenovela El Deseo in 2004 they answered: „When we were together in El Deseo we also had a relationship of mother and daughter so to work together was beautiful,” said Oreiro and Silveyra added: „It was a pleasure! Natalia is a woman who started very young in our profession but we share the same ideology, not only the political but also life one!“
Second official press conference of Mi Primera Boda took place on Tuesday August 23rd 2011 at 3pm in Hotel Four Seasons in Buenos Aires. There were present director Ariel Winograd, producer Axel Kuschevatzky and actors Natalia Oreiro, Daniel Hendler, Soledad Silveyra, Martín Piroyansky, Gino Renni, Gabriela Acher and Muriel Santa Ana. „When I accepted the role, Ariel told me that the role of groom is thought for Daniel. I was very happy because already for a long time I wanted to work with him. The script was inspired by real wedding of the director, so it was quite emotional to film. My character Leonora interested me because I did have roles in comedies but I have never played such a perfectionist,” said Natalia Oreiro. Concerning the cooperation with Spanish actor Imanol Arias Natalia said: „We got along very well immediately, he was very nice and we could talk about everything, even politics which was great as one could not focus on filming all the time!” Daniel Hendler said about working with Oreiro: „It was excellent! Right away I had a feeling like I know her for years, I could not believe we never met before.“ After the conference there were by media released another promotional materials such as filming scenes, recording of the song ‚Cuando Ríes‘ or official movie photos.

On Friday August 26th 2011 there was an interview with Natalia Oreiro published in newspapers Página 12, where she talked about her experience filming the movie Mi Primera Boda. „With solid script it is not difficult to make someone laugh or cry. I already participated in several comedies, but the difference now is that my character of Leonora is not very nice one. She is hysterical, unbearable, anxious and unrealistic,” said about her character and added: „When her fiancée Adrián destroys her wedding day she is crushed, she is very sad as it breaks her heart. This character gave me a chance to portray a comedy character from completely different angle.” About filming she said: „Many people think that to make comedy is a lot about improvisation, but that is not so. I had the script three years before filming took place and we rehearsed a lot before to make sure all looks smooth and without force!“ The same day another interview was published, this time with actors Natalia Oreiro and Daniel Hendler in newspapers Clarín. „Adrián is the type of guy who falls in love but that is enough for him. On the second hand there is Leonora dreaming about wedding,“ says Oreiro and Hendler adds: „But the wedding goes wrong due to several mistakes.” Oreiro has accepted her role without hesitations: „Ariel called me and sent me the script and I accepted the role immediately. I also had several own ideas that all turned out to be part of the final story.“ Director Ariel Winograd said about couple Oreiro and Hendler: „They are the best actors of comedy. I could work with actors who I admire and who understand the genre of comedy.” He said about filming: „It is not easy to film comedy at all. I was also filming scenes even when we were rehearsing only and in the end I ended up using some of those scenes in the final version as there are some moments that can not be repeated.“ The same day actors Gino Renni and Daniel Hendler were guests of program Vivo en Argentina at 2.30 pm on TV station Canal 7, where they talked about Mi Primera Boda. „In the movie we have a father-son relation and it was our first work together. It is a movie that is definitely worth seeing!“ said Renni.

On Saturday August 27th 2011 actors Natalia Oreiro, Daniel Hendler and Muriel Santa Ana took part in show Sabado Bus broadcasted by TV station TeLeFe. Altogether they talked about the movie and also they showed movie’s trailer. „We all dream about an amazing wedding, to have it exactly as we like it, but not always it really happens. And this is what the movie deals with,” said Oreiro. The same day an interview with Natalia Oreiro was published by newspapers La Voz, which are Córdoba’s newspapers. Oreiro will be in Córdoba on September 1st 2011 to promote the movie. „There are many amazing actors in the movie, so it was important for the director to keep balance between each performance as we did not want the movie to be a collection of individual stories, but a full story. We rehearsed a lot, but some scenes are simply about an unrepeatable moment,” said in an interview.
On Sunday August 28th 2011 there was an exclusive interview and photos published by magazine LUZ with Natalia Oreiro being feature on the cover. „I fell in love with the story and I was thinking a lot about my sister’s wedding. It was not such a tragic wedding like in the movie but it also had very female!“ The very same day another interview with Natalia Oreiro, Daniel Hendler and director Ariel Winograd was published in newspapers Tiempo Argentino. „The idea for the movie and its story I got three years ago thinking of my own wedding where everything went wrong,” said the director: „A wedding can be a very stressful event, yet also emotional and unique. It was a theme that was not seen in national cinematography.” Oreiro said about her scene falling into a mud: „Every time I fell right into it. It took almost two hours each day to get ready my dress, make-up and hair, but despite that I always pushed myself hard to the ground to make the scene!” Director Ariel Winograd talked also with magazine Escribiendo Cine, which released the interview on the same day: „When we were looking for movie protagonists we needed for the role of bride someone who could be in comedy without being a comedian. It was clear for us; we had to call Natalia Oreiro. In that time Natalia still did not have Música en Espera or Francia, yet we knew that with Daniel she will be perfect as a couple!“ He also said about the script: „I wrote the story, yet I was missing a central story line and what we wanted was a clear story base to go throughout the movie. In that time we saw movie Música en Espera from writer Patricio Vega and we loved it. We called him and he agreed immediately to write the script for us. But he wanted to start from zero simply basing the story line on my ideas. In few days he presented to me three pages of the script and it was exactly what we were looking for!“
On Monday August 29th 2011 there was a pre-premiere of Mi Primera Boda taking place at 8pm in Cinemark Palermo in Buenos Aires with the participation of majority of cast and crew. Main star Natalii Oreiro, who came in a vintage wedding dress together with her husband musician Ricardo Mollo and family, was accompanied by actors Daniel Hendler, Gabriela Acher, Muriel Santa Ana, Soledad Silveyra, Martín Piroyanski, Daniel Rabinovich, Marcos Mundstock, Clemente Cancela, Sebastian de Caro, Gino Renni and by director Ariel Winograd. „I am very nervous, as if it were my own wedding,” said Oreiro and added about her dress: „I am such a punk bride! The dress is vintage from the end of 18th century.” And about the movie she said: „The movie is absolute explosion! Even though it might not appear so in the beginning, the story has a happy ending. I am sure it will be a comedy of the year.“
On Tuesday August 30th 2011 there was a new interview with Natalia Oreiro published by magazine Democracia, where she talked about her pregnancy, her work and movie Mi Primera Boda. „It is a comedy with black humor. On the one hand, there is a romantic comedy, but on the other, there is a very good plot!“ The same day Natalia Oreiro took part at 3.30pm in show Tarde Negra at radio Pop&Rock, where she talked about the movie: „To work with all the actors was amazing, with some, such as Gino Renni, I have worked before, and with some I had the pleasure to work for the first time. I wanted to be in the movie because it is so different from telenovela, even though it has the same genre, comedy, which I love!“

On Wednesday August 31st 2011 Natalia Oreiro was featured on the cover of magazine Gente altogether with new exclusive interview. „With Daniel Hendler we know each other only shortly, but I said to myself: ‘he is Uruguayan, it can never be bad’. To work with him was like to work with someone I knew before.“ The same day Natalia Oreiro also talked via phone with radio Mitre, where she invited people to see the movie, which was to premiere next day: „On Thursday I will go to Córdoba altogether with Daniel Hendler to promote the movie there. My character is Leonora who suffers because of her need for perfect wedding, yet nothing goes right for her. When the movie was shown for the first time, people were leaving cinema laughing!“
On Thursday September 1st there was the official cinematographic premiere of the movie Mi Primera Boda for Argentinean public. The movie was shown in majority of the cinemas and was distributed by Buena Vista International. Several cinemas also organized midnight screenings for movie fans. From all 39 critiques, which were written in Argentina on the movie Mi Primera Boda, there were 35 (89%) positive, meaning with 60 or more percent. Only 4 (11%) critiques were negative, meaning with 50 or less percent. Overall the movie had average of 69%. Critics from Escribiendo Cine and Loco X El Cine gave the movie the best score of 100%. The worst score was 50%. Critic from newspapers Página 12 said that the movie’s downside is its predictability. In general the movie Mi Primera Boda had always more than 70%.
On Thursday September 1st 2011 there were promotional events taking place in Argentinean province Córdoba in order to introduce the movie outside of the Buenos Aires region. As soon as Natalia Oreiro and director Ariel Winograd arrived to city Córdoba they went to radio Cadena 3 where they participated in program Juntos. The interview started at 12.20 and for twenty minutes the guests talked about movie Mi Primera Boda. „I am very happy for critiques the movie gets. On Monday took place screening of the movie in Buenos Aires and it was very successful,“ said Winograd. „I was lucky to work on many great movies, but this one is the best by far,” said Oreiro laughing: „I would like if people were leaving cinemas with smiles on their faces!“

Natalia Oreiro talked on the same day by phone with radio Continental in order to invite listeners to see the movie in cinemas. „At the moment I am in Córdoba to promote the movie. We would love to have a presentation of the movie in each province, but unfortunately that is not possible. But at least we came here,” she says and adds: „It is a movie where viewers will be laughing from the beginning till the end. It is a national movie but it has an international form.“
Moreover, on Thursday afternoon there was also a press conference in Córdoba being held at the Hotel Sheraton. „One movie process is long-lasting, there are many people involved and when the result is a success, that is always a great pleasure. It was so nice to see people laughing together with the movie. It is a movie that the whole family can enjoy,” said Natalia Oreiro. The movie presentation took place in a cinema Cines Hoyts in shopping center NuevoCentro Shopping at 8.30pm with the participation of Natalia Oreiro and director Ariel Winograd. „I hope you will all enjoy the movie, that you will be able to recommend it and have fun with it,” said Winograd prior to the first screening.
First screening week of the movie for general public was from Thursday September 1st till Wednesday September 7th 2011 and Mi Primera Boda was available in seven Argentinean provinces: Buenos Aires (cities Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Bahía Blanca and La Plata), Córdoba, Santa Fe (cities Rosario and Santa Fe), Mendoza, Salt, San Juan and Neuquén. During one day only, September 1st, 6.231 people in 71 cinemas saw the movie. The movie placed itself on a second position of box office, right after American movie Final Destination 5. Yet Mi Primera Boda had more viewers in average per cinema: 88 people. In average the movie has earned 2.036 Argentine pesos per cinema. After second screening day, Friday September 2nd 2011, 18.398 people in 75 cinemas saw the movie already. The third screening day was very successful for the box office as there were altogether 46.705 Argentine people who saw the movie in 76 cinemas. During the first screening weekend, from Thursday till Sunday September 4th 2011, unbelievable 70.790 people in 77 cinemas saw the movie. However, the movie dropped on third position of box office as another American movie The Smurfs scored a bit higher viewers. Yet Mi Primera Boda was the first national Argentinean movie in the list. The movie earned in average 21.706 Argentina pesos per cinema, and in average of people per cinema the movie was ahead of movies on first and second position with 919 people per cinema. After Monday of September 5th 2011 there were already 75.306 people who saw the movie and on Tuesday the sum reached number of 83.516 people in 78 cinemas.
The first screening week was very successful as the movie was seen by 93.651 viewers and film got into third box office place, yet considering number of viewers per cinemas, the movie was on first place with 1.119 viewers as opposed to movies on first two places. The movie earned 1.944.740 pesos (463.000 dollars) in the first week of screening.
Natalia Oreiro is on cover of magazines Cosmopolitan (6-9-2011), Vanidades (7-9-2011), Tendencia Mujer (8-9-2011) a Hola (14-9-2011) as a part of ongoing promotion for movie Mi Primera Boda in September 2011. „In this movie I portray one of the most antagonist girls in my career. Leonora is perfectionist who desires for the best wedding on Earth…so it is someone completely different than I am. Her obsession is so big that even her fiancée is afraid to tell her about a mistake he has made, which leads to more troubles,” said in an interview for Cosmopolitan.

Natalia Oreiro talked on September 8th 2011 via phone with radio Metro in their program Día Perfecto where she said about a huge box office success of Mi Primera Boda: „I am so very happy because the movie is amazing. I was very pleased to be filming it, I do not have even any favorite scene, all was great!“ The same day Natalia Oreiro also recorded her participation for TV program Esta Noche Libros, which was broadcasted on Friday 9th 2011 on TV C5N at 11pm. Besides talking about books, viewers of the program were also invited to se the movie Mi Primera Boda in cinemas.
Second screening week, from September 8th till 14th 2011, was very successful as only on the first day another 4.931 viewers saw the movie; altogether it was 98.582 viewers in 70 cinemas. The movie moved from third box office place to second. The movie was also newly premiered in Argentine province San Luis. On Friday September 9th 2011 the movie reached record numbers of 100.000 viewers when in 76 cinemas the movie was seen by 108.543 people. After the weekend the movie had already 145.214 viewers in 76 cinemas and was still on second box office place. On Monday September 12th 2011 the number of cinemas rose to 81 and another 6.000 viewers saw the movie. This rounded to 151.020 viewers altogether. On Tuesday September 13th 2011 the movie dropped to third position again as the movie The Smurfs was seen by few more people. Despite the drop, 155.386 people in 83 cinemas saw the movie already. The last day of the second screening week, Wednesday 14th of September, was also successful and 161.211 people in 83 cinemas saw the movie. In the second week alone the movie was seen by 67.333 viewers which is only about 28% less than in the first screening week.
After Natalia Oreiro’s return from Uruguay where she was promoting the movie Mi Primera Boda, she took part on September 12th 2011 in radio program .-Perros de la Calle at the Metro Radio in Buenos Aires. „The movie is such a success and I do not even think people go to see it because of me, the movie itself has very good script at first place.” To answer a question which character is according to her best portrayed by her she answered: “Without the doubt Leonora, her personality is most distant from mine and it was so nice to portray that!“
On Wednesday September 14th 2011 Natalia Oreiro was a guest of show La Biblia y el Calefon on TV station Canal 13, which was broadcasted on Sunday 18th of September. Oreiro talked also about being pleased with success of movie Mi Primera Boda in Argentine cinemas.

During the third screening week, from September 15th to 21st 2011, there was the number of cinemas screening Mi Primera Boda decreased from 83 to 63, yet despite that another 3.291 viewers saw the movie on the first day. Altogether the sum rose to 164.742 Argentine viewers. Friday and Saturday were also very successful and the number of viewers increased by Saturday 17th of September 2011 to 188.005. The third screening weekend was concluded very successfully as the movie reach another record – 200.000 viewers. In only 18 screening days 200.462 people in 64 cinemas saw the movie. It was this exact number that the production has estimated as their budget balance (around 1 million American dollars).
3.2 Uruguay
The premiere of Mi Primera Boda in Uruguay was planned for September 16th 2011. The pre-premiere was announced for Sunday September 11th 2011 in Montevideo’s cinema Hoyts Alfabeta at 8pm with participation of star Natalie Oreiro. Natalia Oreiro flew to Montevideo on Friday September 9th 2011 in order to promote the movie in Uruguay with the director Ariel Winograd.
On Sunday 11th od September 2011 the pre-premiere took place Hoyts Alfabeta in Montevideu. Natalia Oreiro and Ariel Winograd were present from 8pm and were talking to various media about the movie. Oreiro said in an interview for TV TeleDoce about movie Mi Primera Boda: „It is a movie with star cast, Daniel Hendler and I are two Uruguayans yet we are in Argentine movie, which is not that common,” she laughs: “If you intent to get married, you need to see Mi Primera Boda to take the right decision,” she invites people to cinemas.
