Natalia Oreiro met Ricardo Mollo on meeting of their common friends in 2001. At the time, she didn't know
that Ricardo is the famous singer of Divididos, because she hadn't seen him before. She was charmed by his smile and so the great love has begun...

was." Natalia Oreiro.
In half of 2000, Natalia broke up with her longtime love and actor's colleague, Pablo Echarri. Not long after the separation, media has begun to write about new boyfriend of Natalia. They talked about rock idol Iván Noble or other musicians. The right information about new love came in September of 2001. On 6th September, Natalia appeared on public with her new love, a rock singer of Divididos group, Ricardo Mollo. On their way to cinema Lorange in Buenos Aires,
they were followed by many paparazzi and media, who photographed the couple, asked them many questions and put them right on the covers of magazines. Natalia neither Ricardo said a word on her way to/out of the cinema, they were just walking hand in hand with smile on their face and asking media to move so as to they could go through them.
Media immediately reported that young Natalia Oreiro (24) fell in love with twenty years older, divorced man, father of two daughters, a musician Ricardo Mollo.
Magazine Semanario among many others, reported about new couple and published their short statements: "We are very much in love". There was also a short statement of Pablo Echarri: "If Natalia falls in love again and she will be happy, I will be very happy for her."
During 2001 were the couple followed by media all the time, asking them about their love. However, both since the beginning of their relationship didn't let anyone to interfere in their relationship a lot and they always said only several sentences. The biggest shock came
right after new year, when the couple announced that they got married secretly on the last day of 2001.
Wedding
Everything was as the last episode of some soap opera. Discrete, completely private weeding on a ship near shores of the island of Fernando de Noronhia, north of Brazil. A simple ceremony, which took place on the open sea, only in the presence of nature, a judge and several seamen who had a role of witnesses.
As she was dreaming about it as she did it.
With the same easiness, with which Natalia fulfils her dreams, she got married with love of her life. Longer time before, they chose their place of holiday. To the end of December she and her boyfriend went to Brazilian beaches with a secret, which concealed even
in face of their closest: Natalia and Ricardo went to Brazil to get married. They accommodated themselves in a bungalow on the island of Fernando de Noronhia, which is situated north of Brazil and they were waiting for their day D - without big preparations and celebrations. On Monday 31st December 2001 - exactly six months after their love began - Natalia dressed up her wedding dress and together with bridegroom they took a board. A few minutes after the ship reflected from the shore, a judge began; the roles of witnesses took the seamen. One of the seamen was asked to record the whole ceremony with camera. After the ceremonial and with all formalities they arrived back to the island already as a husband and wife. They came back to Buenos Aires a week later and both didn't say their secret to anyone. They didn't say anything either to their parents. Meanwhile Naty and Ricardo have their recording cut and started to plan how they will say it to their relatives.
Afternoon 17th January they called their closest to invite them for a barbecue, which was organized in Porque Loloir, where often Ricardo and his band records. In the evening invited people were gathering together,
and also Natalia's parents and Ricardo's mother. Everyone had thought that it's an ordinary party and brought a bottle of champagne and something sweet. Soon they understood that it isn't only a party. "Do you want to know why we invited you today?" , asked Natalia, standing next to television. She switched on a video recorder and first scenes from the wedding have appeared. People were really surprised and full of emotions, some of them hugged and kissed Natalia. A newly married woman also showed her wedding ring - star,
a tattoo on ring finger. "We did it because it is for the whole life", said later Ricardo. "It's forever". Natalia also explained. "I
got married, because I love the best man in the world", she said. "I found my love of life. Now I want to be happy, nothing more." Party continued with a classic pledge and barbecue. Then everyone was dancing. Before midnight Natalia sang several her songs and it was the end of the party. About 4 am Natalia, Ricardo and her parents went to their house in Palermo Viejo. Natalia and Ricardo had their weeding night 14 days ago, but still had a lot of reasons to celebrate.
And the whole world also found out on 17th January 2002 that Natalia and Ricardo got married. That day, during celebration, after 22 o'clock came Natalia with Ricardo to the gate of the hacienda where a lot of photographes and journalists were waiting and the couple announced them
"We got married." They also showed them her unusual rings and they denied
rumours about Natalia's pregnancy. Naty were repeating that she got married, because she is absolutely in love with the most handsome man the world.
1st wedding aniversary
After the wedding, which took place in Brazil, went Naty with Ricardo on the secret holiday to the beaches La Pedrera, 120km far from Punta del Este (Uruguay). One year later they went there again, to celebrate their first anniversary. On 27th December 2002, after hearty breakfast, went the couple with Natalia's best friend Valeria Lorca and her husband Oscar Ferrigno, to the beach. In 37°C
were the couples enjoying cold sea. Naty with Ricardo, along their friends celebrated their first year of marriage and their huge love.
Living together
Ricardo moved to Naty's house in Palermo during 2001, but both sometimes need to go out
of the crowded city full of smog and they search for refuge in desolate countryside.
Later, in 2003 they bought land of 140 hectares with a holiday house in valley Calamuchita, near Córdoba. The house has been renovated and it's located upon a shore of river San Miguel, which forms a natural swimming pool under the house. But to get to this house, located in true natural paradise is quite difficult. But Ricardo's off-road car can go there without bigger problems.
On 20th October 2005 in forests near Cordoba spread fire due to huge wind and burned about 500ha of the
valley and fire hit also 50ha of Natalia's parcel. A year later occurred the situation again. On 13th November 2006 was Natalia's part of land hit by flames again.
In 2010 the couple bought a house in Carmelo, Uruguay, so that they could be out of the capital, in beautiful countryside and so as to they could enjoy one another.
They are both musicians, so they understand each other in their professions too. Natalia listens to Ricardo's songs, occasionally appears in backstage of his concert and Ricardo persuades Natalia to continue singing and watches her movies. Both sometimes rehearse in their recording studio, near their house in Palermo.
Although they are both famous, hounted by the photographers, they can calmly sit on a bike and go for a ride around Buenos Aires.
Media often asked Natalia why she isn't accompanied by Ricardo on various public events and why he doesn't support her on public. The answer of both - Natalia and Ricardo, is the same - they protect their privacy. They do not expose themselves on public, then do not need to prove their love to anyone. But there were many opportunities to see the couple together. Ricardo accompanied Naty on her tour in Tahiti, Russia... They appear together on environmental events of Greenpeace and we can also see them together at premiere's of Natalia's movies.

In 2009 was the couple followed by paparazzi all the time and it was written about crisis of marriage and possible break-up. Everything was just fantasy of media, that wrote about jealousy of Ricardo to Natalia, who filmed romantic scenes with Luciano Castro for soap opera Amanda O. According to the press Ricardo moved out of Natalia and left their house in Palermo.
At the time Naty made an official statement: "What they say are all lies, and we are tired of it. This hurts and I don't think that we deserve it, because it's totally untruly. Please, don't extend these rubbish. Thank you. Naty." (March 2009)
They've overcomed everything together, it did not destroy their love and they celebrated 10th wedding anniversary on December 31st 2011. In July 2011 Natalia announced that she had been in three month of pregnancy and she had been awaiting her and Ricardo's child. In show of Susana Gimenez, from August 15th she said she had been awaiting a baby-boy and later she revealed a name, chosen by Ricardo - Merlín. Merlín was born by Ceasarean on Thursday January 26th 2012 in Buenos Aires. Merlín Atahualpa Mollo Oreiro is full name of their son.
