Sos mi vida (You are my life) - 2005-2006

Already in summer 2005 there were rumors that famous telenovela couple Natalia Oreiro and Facundo Arana could come back together for new project – telenovela about two police workers that will fall in love. Natalia, however, due to other working engagements had to reject the offer. Adrián Suár was the one who came up with new idea and met Natalia and Facundo again. The script changed and after stating all necessary details of contract both actors agreed to star in the telenovela. From October 2005 Natalia started to train boxing so she would be able to portray her character of boxer girl La Monita as well as possible. She was under training of world box winner Marcela “La Tigresa” Acuòa. Telenovela got name Sos Mi Vida and Natalia sung the title song which is a cover of Gilda’s famous Corazón Valiente.

The script was written by Ernesto Korovsky in collaboration with four other script writers and the telenovela was produced by company Pol-ka. Filming started on December 1st 2005 and the first episode was aired on Argentinean Canal 13 on Monday 16th of January at 21 o’clock. The biggest part was filmed in studios in Buenos Aires but some episodes were also shot in exteriors such as La Boca, in mountains Las Leòas in Mendoza, in San Isidro or in German Gelsenkirchen where the scenes from World Cup 2006 were filmed. The filming was concluded on Friday 22nd of December 2006. There were at first 180 episodes planned, however, because of great success the telenovela was extended to 230 episodes. The last episode was broadcasted in Argentina on 9th of January 2007.
Sos mi vida was in Argentina very successful and soon the telenovela was sold also to abroad. In the end it was broadcasted at least in 52 world countries, in South America and also in Eastern Europe but also in Belgium where Sos Mi Vida was first telenovela broadcasted ever, or in Porto Rico, Philippines and many more.
In year of 2006 the telenovela won award Clarín for the best telenovela of the year and on prestigious awards Martín Fierro 2006 Sos mi vida was the great winner. Not only it became telecomedy of the year, both main protagonists Natalia Oreiro and Facundo were awarded as best actors. In July 2007 Sos mi vida got award FUND TV.

“I am very happy with my character Monita. I put a lot of me into her,” said Natalia in one of the many interviews. “To film again with Facundo after so many years was amazing. I think that also whole crew lived the story with us. We wanted to make something much better than was Muòeca Brava.”



Synopsis:
Esperanza Muòoz (Natalia Oreiro), also called La Monita, is a boxer girl. She lives in neighborhood called La Boca together with her fiancé Quique (Carlos Belloso), his mother Nieves (Dalma Milevos) and also with Monita’s friends Turca (Monica Ayos) and Kimberly (Fabiana García Lago). During one of her boxing matches Monita finds out that her right hand is not all right and the doctor advises her to give the boxing up for a while.
Martín Quesada (Facundo Arana) lives in luxurious neighborhood of Buenos Aires, he is ex-formula one driver and now is the president of company Quesada Group that he inherited from his father and made a huge building empire out of it. His cousin Miguel (Marcelo Mazzarello) is very jealous and wants the company for himself. Martín has also fiancé, fashion designer Constanza (Carla Peterson) who wants to get married with him as soon as possible and is willing to do anything for that. Martín was married once, however, his lovely wife died soon after in plane accident and that was the reason why Martín stopped driving formulas and turned into a business man. His long-time friend Alfredo (Alejandro Awada) helps him out with the business. Martín desires for a family and that is the reason why he wants to adopt three orphans – José (Elias Vinoles), Coki (Ornella Fazio) and Laura (Thelma Fardín). The adoption is exactly what his fiancé does not want to happen.
Esperanza is looking for new job and Kimberly tell her about an open position of secretary at Quesada Group. Monita borrows fancy dress from Turca and goes for audition. Unfortunately, receptionist Mercedes (Claudia Fontán) troughs Monita away because she thinks she is a cheap prostitute. It is raining and Monita cries in front of the company and that is where Martín entering the company meets her. They talk and Martín gives her the position.
That is how the long story full of comical and love and drama scenes begins. Soon there are new characters entering the scene, some are funny, some are mean and some very annoying. There is Miguel’s crazy sister Debi (Griselda Siciliana), lawyer and beast in one person Falucho (Pablo Cedrón) who gets together with Miguel and Constanza and tries to destroy Martín, get away his adopted children and Monita. There is also Martín’s rival in formula one Rolando (Mike Amigorena). The love between Monita and Martín grows day by day but also has to face new challenges day by day. A lot of time needs to pass before these two lovebirds can say their ‘I do’ and live truly happily ever after…

From 9th of March 2007 also Czech fans could watch Sos mi vida on TV under the name Jsi mùj život. Telenovela was aired by TV Prima but in very bad timing, at 9.50 in the morning. Later on the time was moved to 8.50. Despite the morning time telenovela was successful and Natalia and Facundo gained a lot of fans again.
